#7 Binge Watching

As a college student we have to find ways to find fun or to release stress, because everyone knows how college can really be. An this is when Netflix, Hulu, and other streaming sites comes in handy, because these sites are the best thing that has ever been invented. I took this assignment to heart and I actually binge watch two shows over a week time span that i have been wanting to watch, but I never had time to until now.

I am more of a horror, action, and documentary type of person and the first show that I watch was Flint Town , this documentary was in its 1st season this month on the 2nd. When i first saw the title I was thinking that it was about the Flint water crisis, but in all actuality it was about the police force and the everyday struggles the face while on the line of duty. This documentary sheds light on different situations that the officers and their family may face. This season had 8 episodes that range from 34-47 minutes. Each episodes hit a different topic that correlated with the episode for instance, 1. Welcome to Flint Town, is basically an introduction to the lives of the officers and what they really do as well as getting ready for a new mayor while dealing with the difficulties of getting a new police chief. Here are more clips.  "Netflix's "Flint Town" follows the city's depleted police force over the course of a year. The co-directors of the eight-part documentary series joined CBSN with more on the officers' struggles to fight crime.

This documentary took me 3 days to finally finish, yes I know that it should not have but when you fall asleep that means that you have to start over. As further along in the series it starts pick up and it becomes more and more exciting with the different situations that are going on that they are facing in the documentary. The different situations that occur range from family problems such as job placement at a new facility to moving to a new home get away from threats and much more. This documentary just shows what the actual problem is in Flint and it goes deeper than just the water crisis and deeper than the mayor. It goes deeper into the police force and them having a hard time adjusting to the challenges they come across with drugs and making the blocks safer for the children to play instead of always in the house.

The next show that I watch was called "Shot After Dark Life and Death in LA" it follows rival freelance stringers who scour the streets at night looking to film crime scenes, fires, accidents, and anything else they can sell to the media. It's a cutthroat profession that sees the videographers looking for newsworthy events, not knowing what kind of situations they'll find themselves in until they actually happen. As with most reality shows, personal drama and conflicts between the rivals tend to get in the way of their jobs at times. This documentary was released November of 2017 Shot in the Dark goes is a heavy hitting series that is in the process of its 2nd season all of the clips range from 33 - 41 minutes and each episode is jaw dropping and breath taking as further a long you go. Just as this Clip left me in shock i know it will have others as well. It shows you how risky their jobs really are and what they go through for a shot. While competing for cash and whoever has the quickest and best video to be played on the news station.
